"R.E.M. - Pretty much everything before they started scoring hits with Document is super slept on and some of the finest music to come out of the early American alternative/indie scene. Not to say they became "bad" but all the big songs from Out of Time and Automatic for the People can get grating ju"

"I put on Document at work the other day and good lord it's good. Listened to it three times in a row. After that I listened to Life' s Rich Pageant. 10/10. Out Of Time, masterpiece. Automatic For The People, fantastic. Murmur? Genius."

"driving home from my gf's at midnight, very melancholy. my phone auto connects to the bluetooth, had to pick a song to fit the mood. thought it'd be nice to hear REM's 'Everybody Hurts' but that's a very gay song to put on just for yourself."

"REMs first two albums are perfect. Gotta contribute to the late night music posting. Chronic town is also great"

"Early R.E.M. (which I would define as everything up to Document) was so good; I'm hard pressed to think of a band that was more original in its time. They sometimes get classified as post-punk or neo-60s revival, but they don't really fit neatly into those or any other category and truly had a vibe "

"You had the likes of The Smiths, Stone Roses, Pixies, New Order, Happy Mondays and R.E.M. all putting out iconic records in their absolute prime."
