Hamnet

🎲

A theatrical production criticized for its corny approach to depicting Shakespeare's creative process, particularly showing him conceiving 'to be or not to be' while contemplating suicide.

"Shakespeare coming up with "to be or not to be" while contemplating drowning himself is the worst thing I've seen since Oppenheimer hearing "I am become death" while having sex with Florence Pugh"
Just saw Hamnet and it was so goddamn corny · u/Pagan_Pat · ↑162 · 2026-01-20
"Shakespeare was not some macabre and tortured artist, he was a funny pervert who had a great way with words. Even in many of his 'tragedies' there are clearly satirical elements (the porter in Macbeth). The whole movie acts like he wasn't a philanderer."
